Cuttle Creator responsibilities

The Cuttle Creators program launched in March 2025 and is still evolving — we may make changes as we grow. We want this to be a win-win for Creators, Cuttle Pro subscribers, and the Cuttle platform. Your feedback is welcome!

What you're agreeing to

  • Program changes: The Cuttle Creators program is subject to change or cancellation as we continue to develop it.
  • Customer support: If a Cuttle Pro customer has trouble with your template, we may put them in touch with you. Simple templates (like personalized text) rarely need support, while templates with many options or complex assemblies occasionally do.
  • Keep templates published: Once you publish a template, you agree to leave it up for the long-term. Makers may depend on your template to fulfill orders, and we don't want to disrupt their businesses.

Content policy

All Creator templates must follow Cuttle's Content Policy. Templates that don't comply will be unpublished and you'll be contacted. Repeated violations may result in suspension.

Unsure about something? Send us your unlisted template or idea for review. (Email support@cuttle.xyz)

Legality

Makers must feel safe making and selling items from your templates.

  • No trademarks: No trademarked graphics or words (like Disney characters). For borderline cases (e.g., "topper compatible with Stanley cups"), please check with us first.
  • Original graphics only: All graphics must be your own creations — no downloaded clip art, Creative Fabrica assets, etc.
  • Approved exceptions: Noun Project icons from Cuttle’s integration and AI-generated content as part of your design process are both acceptable.

Originality

Even if all assets are technically your own creations, our Originality Policy goes above and beyond US Copyright law in order to encourage design diversity and respect individual creativity.

  • No substantial copying: Your template can't be substantially similar to another existing design — that is, same overall design, layout, and key elements with only minor variations.
  • How we evaluate originality: If we search and find only one designer with a similar design and yours isn't significantly different, that's not okay. If 5+ designers sell similar products and yours is as different from each as they are from each other, you're doing your own take on a trend — which is fine. When in doubt, check with us first. (Email support@cuttle.xyz)
  • No pattern of copying: Don't repeatedly copy another designer's product style or releases. Each creator should develop their own brand and direction.

Subject matter

Cuttle is used by makers of all ages and we want to keep things uncontroversial. Creator templates cannot include:

  • Politics
  • Guns
  • Drugs
  • Sexual or inappropriate content
  • Swear words

Note: Religious symbols (Cross, Star of David, etc.) are allowed if respectful.

Code of conduct

The Cuttle Creators Program thrives on creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Do:

  • Help others improve by mentoring and answering questions where you can
  • Celebrate each others’ achievements and milestones
  • Support fellow designers through positive engagement and proper attribution
  • Contact us directly if you have concerns about another designer

Don’t:

  • Publicly criticize, mock, or disparage other designers or their work
  • Make condescending comments about others’ skills or design choices
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate anyone
  • Share private conversations or disputes publicly without consent
  • Deliberately undermine other people’s reputation or business
