3D Butterfly - Emerald Swallowtail

Create a Beautiful 3D Art Piece of an Emerald Swallowtail Butterfly.
Can be Free Standing or Include a Hole to Hang it from.
Can be made as a frame, painted or with flex or 1/16th acrylic attached to the back of the wings.
Instructions
Using 1/8" material (acrylic, double sided MDF, wood) use Cuttle's Slot Size Tester (see link below) to determine what size to set your slot thickness value.
Next preform a test cut using the square below. This will allow you to test the actual fit of the value obtained from the slot size tester. Repeat test cut, if needed, until you get a good snug, but not forceful, fit. Once satisfied, enter that value in the slot thickness box.
If you would like to hang the Butterfly check the box to Include Hole. If you do not add a hole to hang the piece it will stand on it's own on a flat surface.

For the painted version I just glued the original cut pieces back into the frame after painting everything. I did not adjust for kerf.
To attach Flex or 1/16th inch Acrylic to the back of the wings, also download this template, and line up to backside of wings when gluing.
Use Cuttle's Slot Size Tester to determine the slot thickness to enter into this program:
Use Cuttle's Slot Test Square to determine a snug fit before cutting entire pattern.
I suggest for 1/8" material starting to start testing around at 0.114 inch and 0.115 inches.
Hints: In general do not use masked material for the slot test. But if you will be painting, or adding craft paper to the project, test with a piece that is the same as your end product will be. Do a separate slot size test for each material you use. Don't assume White MDF and regular MDF size the same, for example.
