Use this tool to quickly find the right slot thickness for your project—no kerf calculations, or math needed. It won't replace your calipers but it can help you figure out the right size of a slot when you want a tight fit.
How to Use
We recommend that you cut the tool out of the material you intend to use with your project. And use scoring to mark the numbers.
Use a piece of the same material (or the edges of your sheet) to try different slot sizes until you find the fit you are looking for.
For additional testing you can cut a couple of Slot Size Test Squares with the slot size you feel has the best fit.
Other Sizes
This starting set of 3 testers covers a range between 0.080 inches and 0.282 inches, so it works for most materials with a nominal size between 1/8" and 1/4".
