A quick note about fit + kerf

The value in the Slot Size box isn’t automatically adjusted for kerf, so relying on standard material thickness can lead to loose or overly tight joints.

Instead of guessing, I recommend using a slot sizing guide to get the most accurate fit.

I keep one slot sizer for each common material thickness (like 1/4″ and 1/8″) and reuse them whenever I’m working with that same thickness again.

Here’s how it works:

• Cut the slot sizer from the same material you’re using for your project

• Slide your wood or acrylic into each opening until you find the one that feels just right

• Take the measurement shown for that slot

• Enter that number into the Slot Size setting above

This extra step saves time, reduces test cuts, and gives you cleaner, more reliable results.
