Sloth with Leaves Milestone Photo Prop Sign with Dry-Erase Element

1. Input kerf measurement for the small leaves. Note - you want this to be a secure fit so it doesn't fall out, but not so snug you can't remove the pieces for interchangeability. Consider printing a single one to test first before printing the set. My default kerf starting point is 0.003 inches.

2. Download SVG File.

3. Recommended Materials below:

   • Backer: any material. I like to use a color that will allow the design to shine, such as a plain black, wood, or pastel material. Pre-finished material like Eco Birch (Smokey Hill) and COLORboards (Craft Closet - use affiliate code DOODLES for $$ off!) work really well.

   • Sloth Details: I like matte 1/8 acrylic. I recommend applying 3M or comparable adhesive on BACK of your materials before cutting, though you can use another adhesive if preferred.

   • Interchangeable Leaves: if you are using 1/8 material for the sloth, use 1/8 for the leaves. I like mattes best for these because they photograph well. DO NOT apply 3M to the backs - you want these to be interchangeable, so they will not be sticking to the backer.

   • Big Leaf: this is your dry erase section (where you can write DAY/WEEK/MONTH/YEAR or other things to celebrate) so you will want to use a gloss acrylic, consider applying 3M or comparable adhesive on BACK of materials for easy assembly.

4. Engrave, Score, and Cut elements by following file key

5. Color fill nose, eyes, cheeks, and numbers (I recommend using craft paint or dry-erase markers)

6. Assemble by following score lines and preview/sample image as a guide. Start at bottom, place leaf, then legs, then belly, then line up one leaf as a place holder, place the arms/head, and fill in the face details last.

Difficulty Level:
Beginner/Intermediate - there are a decent number of pieces, plus the color-fill and interchangeable element, but with the score lines on the backer, assembly should be pretty straight forward. Because we adjust for kerf, the hole in the back of the backer allows you to pop out the leaves to swap easily.
