  1. Input kerf measurement for hats and bandanas. Note - you want this to be a secure fit so it doesn't fall out, but not so snug you can't remove the pieces for interchangeability. Consider printing a single of each and testing before you print them all.

  2. Input custom emoji and text if desired.

  3. Download SVG File.

  4. Recommended Materials below:

    • Backer: any material. I like to use a color that will allow the design to shine, such as a plain black, wood, or pastel material. Pre-finished material like Eco Birch (Smokey Hill) and COLORboards (Craft Closet - use affiliate code DOODLES for $$ off!) work really well.

    • Cow Details: I like matte 1/8 acrylic. I recommend applying 3M or comparable adhesive on BACK of your materials before cutting, though you can use another adhesive if preferred.

    • Interchangeable Items (Hat, Bandana): if you are using 1/8 material for the cow, use 1/8 for the bandana and hats. I like mattes best for these. DO NOT apply 3M to the backs - you want these to be interchangeable, so they will not be sticking to the backer.
      If you don't want to print ALL the interchangeable items, consider printing one on glossy acrylic to use as a DRY ERASE option.

  5. Score, Engrave, and Cut elements by following file key

  6. Color-fill any engraved areas if desired. I prefer using craft acrylic paint, letting dry, and wiping with a baby wipe. This works best on pre-finished or masked materials.

  7. Assemble by following score lines and preview/sample image as a guide. Start at bottom, place hooves/legs/body, then line up one bandana as a place holder, place the head, repeat with hat as placeholder, and place horns. You want to make sure everything is lined up well so it is easy to replace the interchangeable items.

FILE KEY:
Blue = Score
Red = Cut
Black = Engrave

Difficulty Level:
Intermediate - there are some small pieces, but with the score lines on the backer, assembly should be pretty straight forward. Because we adjust for kerf, the holes in the back of the backer allow you to pop out the hats/bandanas easily.

These are NOT intended to be toys - they are simply prop/display items, that should be supervised at all times by adults. Please use your own discretion when determining if this file set is right for you.
