First Christmas Snow Globe Shaker Ornament. Instructions, recommended materials, and video below.

This design includes an optional "glitter pocket" - you can fill it with glitter, clay pieces, rhinestones, etc. and it will sit behind your main snow globe piece so that it doesn't hide your charms but still adds the color and sparkle of a traditional shaker. If you do NOT want to include this piece, uncheck "Glitter Pocket" on the checklist above and it will remove one seal and the back spacer.

  1. Select which charms you want to include. They will not all fit at once - you can mix and match them. Simply uncheck any you do not want to include.

  2. Fill in details for Baby's Name, Year, Date of Birth, Length, Time of Birth, and Weight - or leave any of these fields blank if you do not want the text included.

  3. Cut pieces from the following:*

    • Front Cover and Back Cover: Craft Plastic, Flex, or Veneer of your choice with 3M or comparable on the back

    • Front Seal, Middle Seal, and Back Seal from Clear Flex (or patterned flex, like snowflakes on clear, but you want it to be mostly see-through) - keep in mind flex can be cut with vinyl cutting machines if you need something diode compatible!

    • Middle Spacer from 1/4" material of your choice with 3M or comparable on both sides. I like Clear Acrylic, but you can use wood to make this diode compatible.

    • Back Spacer from 1/8" material of your choice with 3M or comparable on both sides

    • Charms from 1/8" material of your choice (I like Eco-Birch or finished wood for easy cleanup) - be sure to cut duplicates of any characters you may need.

  4. Assemble in the following order:

    • Front Cover, Front Seal, Middle Spacer (Place Charms inside this section before adding Middle Seal), Middle Seal, Back Spacer (Place Shaker Inclusions inside this section before adding Back Seal), Back Seal, Back Cover

  5. Add Ribbon for hanging and you're all set!

*If you are not including the "glitter pocket," simply uncheck it above and it will skip the "back spacer" and "back seal" elements.
