DIY Nachos Coloring Set

This interactive laser cut file includes a nacho tray, lift-off lid, tortilla chips, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, beans, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream pieces for kids to color, arrange, and play with. Perfect for pretend play, busy boxes, party favors, or a fun food-themed craft project.

Instructions:

1. Color the lid first.
   After cutting, color or paint the lid and base before assembly, if desired. It is usually easier to color the engraved and scored details before the layers are glued together.

2. Build the nacho tray frame.
   Glue or adhere the thicker frame layer(s) on top of the base piece. Two frame layers are included, but you may cut more or fewer depending on your material thickness and how much space you want inside the tray.

3. Add the lid insert layer.
   Once the frame layers are dry, glue or adhere the thinner frame layer on top of the nacho tray frame. This thinner layer creates the inset area where the lid will sit.

4. Attach the side tabs.
   Glue or adhere one tab to each side of the lid. These tabs make it easier to lift the lid on and off the nacho tray. Use the score lines on the lid as a placement guide.

5. Color the nacho pieces.
   Color or paint the tortilla chips, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, beans, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream with paint markers, acrylic paint, or your preferred coloring supplies.

6. Build your nachos.
   Place the tortilla chips inside the tray, then add your favorite toppings to create your own custom nacho plate. Extra toppings can be stored in the smaller compartments.

7. Place the lid on top.
   Set the lid into the inset frame. Use the side tabs to lift the lid and reveal the nacho set inside.
