DIY Cookies in a Tin Coloring Set

Create a sweet pretend-play cookie tin with this DIY coloring set! Kids can color and decorate the cookie pieces, assemble the layered tin, and tuck the cookies inside for a fun interactive activity. Includes a removable lid, cute cookie shapes, and plenty of details to color.

Instructions:

1. Color the pieces first.
   After cutting, color or paint the lid, base piece, and tab handle before assembly, if desired. It is usually easier to color the details before the layers are glued together.

2. Build the tin frame.
   Glue or adhere the thicker frame layer(s) on top of the base piece. Two frame layers are included, but you may cut more or fewer depending on your material thickness and how much space you want inside the tin.

3. Add the lid insert layer.
   Once the frame layers are dry, glue or adhere the thinner frame layer on top of the tin frame. This thinner layer creates the inset area where the lid will sit.

4. Attach the tab handle.
   Glue or adhere the tab handle to the lid, using the score lines on the lid as a placement guide.

5. Color and decorate the cookies.
   Color or paint the cookie pieces with paint markers, acrylic paint, or your preferred coloring supplies. Add extra details, sprinkles, or patterns to make each cookie unique.

6. Place the cookies inside.
   Add the finished cookies to the tin, then place the lid into the inset frame. Use the tab to lift the lid and reveal the cookies inside.
