Changing the Rib Shape

You can change the rib shape to play with different looks for the vase.

Open Advanced Shaping and adjust bellyX and bellyY

Kerf compensation

0.007" seems to work well for most people but you can use the tab and slot tester to figure out the ideal kerf compensation for your materials and machine.

Top and Bottom Options

You can fully customize the size of the openings at the top and bottom to fit your project.

• For some applications a small hole at the base can help you center objects.

• If you want to use it as a container that gets picked up you might want to to check includeBottom to cut an additional piece to glue at the base.

  

Gluing and Assembly

When assembling vases with 3 ribs (like the one on the left) to use with the Name Flowers we had better results by applying glue to the joints for stability. Either wood glue or super glue.

Stability gets much better with 4 ribs and up, and you can get away with a simple press fit. The example on the right has 6 ribs and was assembled without glue.
