A clear acrylic stick and base set for attaching cake charms or toppers to cakes — designed for a snug, tool-free fit so your charms stand confidently and ship flat.
Use this slot sizer to quickly determine the correct slot thickness without needing to do any kerf calculations.
Kerf refers to the small amount of material removed by the laser beam during cutting. Material thickness typically varies from each batch, so you may need to retest the hole size for each time you use a different acrylic.
Simply find which hole your material fits into and copy that value into the Hole Height Parameter.
It should be a tight enough fit that the stick does not easily fall out of the backer, the stick should be flush
Tips:
Snug fit is everything: download the hole sizer and test which value matches your acrylic batch, rather than wrestling with kerf calculations.
For shipping, add 3M tape to the base before cutting so customers can attach the charm peg themselves on arrival.
For heavier charms, use multiple sticks or a longer stick. For personal use or local delivery, plain glue works fine.
