Create this kickstand support for a sign or frame. Input the length of the kickstand, then update the material thickness, kerf, and optional text/emoji/QR Code. Please see below for a kerf tester to ensure a perfect fit before cutting the full template.
When choosing your kickstand length:
Typical signs lean from about 10 degrees to 20 degrees. Since this is parametric, your lean angle is dependent on 2 factors: kickstand length & kickstand placement on the back of the sign. To start out I would recommend selecting a kickstand length that is no larger than 1" LESS THAN the total sign height ('sign' being whatever you plan to use it on). You can also go smaller than this, but keep at at least 60% of the total sign height. I.E. If i am using this on a 10" sign, I would make the kickstand length anywhere from 6"-9" long.
Placement: The length you chose for the kickstand will determine where you adhere the kickstand to your sign. In my experience, when laying the kickstand on the back of a sign in the flattened position, if you overhang the bottom slightly (~1/4") It will give you a good lean angle. (see photo below). But please test it out by holding it in place and assessing your lean angle before glueing it down!.
When assembling the kickstand: slide the two tabs onto the kickstand BEFORE inserting in the backplate. If you are struggling with kerf and getting a tight fit, you can always add glue.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:
After cutting, layout the backplate so that the kickstand overhangs ~1" from the bottom of the frame.
Glue the backplate on level.
After the glue is dried place both of the tabs onto the kickstand FIRST, then press both tabs into the slots.
