Give your favorite sports player a:

• Door Sign (about 6" on a side)

• Bag Tag (about 3" on a side)

• Wall Art (about 12" on a side)

• With their name and number.

Choose what size, name and number, then cut on your laser or Cricut. Glue the three layers together and make a memory.

3D Printing a Bag Tag

While the 3D Print is in beta, you will have to go into the project, choose the "Bag Tag" component, and make sure that the "Bag Tag" is selected in the parameters. Then choose "Export for 3D Printing"

Choose your colors and thickness, and download the 3MF.

These are 12" x 12" pre-colored laser safe boards (Basswood at ⅛" for this project) In Fall of 2025 I purchased them (full price no discounts or sales) for approximately $6 each (Free shipping because of order quantity).

To create four signs each with three colors, you will need three of these 12"x12" boards.

I chose colors that might be at home in Seattle, but I would change for the colors of the team in question. Open the "FourUpDoorSign" triangle. Type the names (Use Enter / Return between names) same for numbers. Export the three sheets.

This wood should cut on any laser 10W or higher (please check the Craft Closet site for recommendation: https://craftcloset.com/blogs/news/recommended-cut-settings) I use an XTool S1 Diode at 20 W. ⅛ Basswood cuts nicely around 10mm/s and 100% power (I use air assist and have an inline fan for exhaust)

Masking is an option depending on your air assist / settings. With my rig, I am happy with a wipe using isopropyl alcohol (99%) to remove smoke artifacts.

Since there is a paint coating on the board, I would work with a glue that: Won't run too much (not a thin CA), Will adhere to plastic, won't melt / mark plastic. (H66 Vinyl cement, Loctite Vinyl bonder, Aleene's DIY Craft & Vinyl). https://craftcloset.com/blogs/tutorials/what-glue-should-i-use

Assembly should be simple and accurate:

• Spread glue per product instruction on the back side of the "Backing" piece (the one with the name and number.

• Set it on the "Outline" (the one that is a solid shirt).

  • Ensure the two pieces are aligned well

  • Press the pieces together (per glue instructions)

• Spread glue on the back of the "Outline" piece (the one with no center).

  • Ensure the two pieces are aligned well

• Allow glue to set / dry (per package instructions)

Materials

For a laser I would recommend Baltic Birch Plywood, but this could be done with MDF or Cardboard.

For Cricut chipboard or card stock.

Uses

Make it 3" wide of a keychain.

4" wide for an ornament.

6 inches on up for a door sign / room sign.

Give to your favorite athlete or booster.

Assembly

Super easy to make:

1. Enter name and number in Cuttle Template.

2. Export SVG file

3. Cut with your favorite laser (or blade cutting machine)

4. Paint or color as you want

5. Glue the three layers
