This is a wood kit to make a miniature sewing box.

It has four parts:

Top, Internal shelf, Box, and Drawer.

It will need a hinge (metal or whatever appeals).

Materials

• 1/32" thick basswood (or other wood if desired)

• Hinge(s)

• Glue

Optional:

• Paint

• Paint Brush.

• Cloth for liner.

• Mirror for inside the top.

  Assembly

Always dry fit before gluing.

To remove parts from the tabbed sheet, use a sharp craft knife. Trying to "pop" them out with your hands is a recipe for breaking / getting sharp bits.

once you have removed parts, you may want to sand / file them a bit to make sure it is flush. Do this carefully, 1/32 thick wood is very delicate.

You will need to decide if there will be a cloth liner, as will effect assembly.

Internal Shelf

the long divider cuts the shelf in have width wise, and the short divider cuts one side in half height wise.

If lining, you may want to use the parts as patterns, or to line some or all of the shelf before installing.

Doing the shelf first is important to ensure that when you build the box, the shelf can fit around it. The cut is intentionally tight, so you may need a light sand or scrape with a craft knife.

Box

Gather: B1, B2, B3 x 2 and D4

Look at the 3D render. The base box has a bottom, two sides, and a front at the top, leaving space for the drawer to slide into the bottom.

If you are lining, decide how far below the top you want the shelf. This will most likely be done after the shelf is complete, there are many ways to do this work, but all of them will benefit from using the pieces to mark distances on a pattern.

Drawer

gather D1, D2, D3 x 2, D4

The dry fit here is especially important, the front of the shelf goes above and below the shelf box, you will need to be careful about where you glue it.

Lid

gather: L1, L2 x 2, L3 x 2
