Cuttle for 3D Printing

Today we’re officially releasing Cuttle Templates for 3D Printing!

Just type text, choose options, and click Download for a ready-to-print 3MF or STL file.

Try it out with our Free 3D Printed Keychain Generator!

  • Type any text
  • Customize the heights of the layers
  • Choose any font (or upload your own with Cuttle Pro)
  • Customize the hole and its placement

You can also add icons within the text, like adding a bow to the name. Just click the Paw icon on the right of the text field.

There are a bunch of free icons and Cuttle Pro users can search 1,000,000+ more or upload your own.

3D Printing is a new Cuttle feature that’s just out of beta. We’d love to hear about your experiences with it. Please post your creations in the Facebook Group or reply to this email if you need any assistance!

More 3D Printing templates

In preparation for this launch, Cuttle Creators have been designing their own 3D Printing templates. Here are a few that caught our eye:

This Sand Mold template by Bonnie (CBco Designs) lets you type any name to generate a personalized beach toy. We think it looks great with the gradient filament too (Bonnie links to her supplies on the template page).

This 3D Card Deck Box by wijitworks can be completely customized. You can set the internal width, height, and depth to generate a 3D print file for a box that will fit any sized deck of cards. We also like the snug-fitting lid and finger notch.

Make your own 3D Print files in the Cuttle Editor

You can make your own 3D Printing files in the Cuttle Editor. All you need to do is design each layer in a different color, then set the layer heights.

This means if you’re able to make SVGs for cutting, you’re now able to make 3D printer files!

To get you started, here are some tutorial videos from Federico from earlier while the 3D Printing feature was in beta.

3D Printing with Cuttle. Federico shows a few simple designs you can easily make with the 3D Printing feature.

Making 3D Printed Cookie Cutters. This video explores how to design cookie cutters with emojis, text, and images. It also covers recommended settings, sizes, and design guidelines for best results.
